World cup; oh dear God

----- Some people are mad; some are unique, me: I'm normal; and that's weird ------

World Cup fever has truly hit the world; what with the TV being taken over at least twice a day by thousands of people screaming 'COME ON (insert team name here)'. Although I do have to say it is entertaining to see the stupid mistakes some of the players make.... England Goalie..... need I say more? ( I swear I laughed so hard at that; mostly because all the England fans were all going nooooooo in slow motion as it went in lol. ..I wonder how many people wanted to step into the net themselves; cus I think even I cold have saved that)
However; onto more pressing.... yarn-y issues :D

----- World Cup knitting -----
I started my world Cup knitting; the Sweet home socks from Lion brand pattern centre, and knit up to row 40 within the first couple of matches. It is now the 14th and I am on row 48. I am halfway through the last patterned bit at the top (called the flower); after that I can pretty much knit without looking at it; because its in plain stockinette; which is the easiest stitch pattern to do in the round (K every round). I have to keep doing that until it's 12 inches long. Then the pattern says 'try on to see how much longer you need to make each sock'

TRY ON??? I'm using metal DPNs, I cannot physically try on the sock unless I want to do surgery on my leg to make it triangular. I'm afraid that won't be happening; I like my legs.... so I guess this is going to be another bit of guessing. But we'll cross that bridge when we come to the ....12 inch bridge. it then says 'when ready begin to shape heel.' which has then a complicated 20 st repeat pattern which makes the piece turn at one side; making the heel..... it looks more complicated than it sounds..... but I think I will have these done well before the end of the world cup.
+++ Success (well nearly) +++

I also learned how to make a bobble in this pattern..... thats a weird, annoying and hard looking thing.... and even more difficult to do. Thank God I dont have to do it again until after June 26th (when I'm supposed to start the next sock)

----- New stuffs -----
Before you say it; no I did not buy Yarn. I actually bought 2 magazines. Knitting Magazines.Knit today and Lets Knit. the Knit today magazine came with THE most gorgeous pair of 4.5mmm needles in bright, metalic purple ==>
And yes; that is a new project on the pointy end. its actually a joke present for my dad for fater's Day. A cup arrived in the post for my dad a couple of weeks ago; a help the aged mug; which he got free..... cus he's one of the aged apparently. It has his name on the mug and everything. it was basically saying 'you're old'. So I'm making him a mug-cozy so that he doesn't have to look at the 'HELP THE AGED Mr J Haddock' anymore. lol.
Fount a really nice pattern on Vogue knitting website for a cabled mug pattern which I am going to make (within this week hopefully; cus its like 24 sts long....... which isn't that long. so I'll work like mad on this whinever I am sick of the sock pattern.

----- In other news -----

  • Sport is taking over. not only is the world cup on but the tennis is also on, and so is the cricket :S. This weekend I've been tired just looking at half the people I see on TV running about the place.

  • I did not get the unmentionable bolero half finished. It is sulking in my stash.

  • I have to soon clear out my stash; mostly to find the other ball of wool that I'm using for the world cup socks

  • Sandy, Candy and Cottontail look lonely; so I might start Xmas knitting soon (more on that in the future)

  • I want to make a show of my stash. I might clear out the top shelf of my bookcase and stach it all there. it'd look prettier than my gorlous amount on pens I have collected over the years.
----- Birthdays -----
There was no birthdays this time :(. but next month has the most importeant birthday of all; My better half's :D

----- Sayonara -----
Well this is Goodbye from me; I'll be talking you all again on the 24th. 2 days before the 1st sock deadline; We'll see how far I am from finishing; or if I have already finished.
Until then amuse youself with a 'Where's Lady' Picture (or 2) (they're easy :)

Toodles :) and have a nice Father's Day. xxxxxxx Luv u's all

yeah; finished..... right.

----I lied..... or overestimated myself.....----
Late blog; sorry. : <
Alright; two weeks ago (last blog) I reported the terrible fate of the Garns bolero; is has then been re-christened 'The Unmentionable Bolero' in my head. I kinda said I'd have it within spitting distance of being finished by this blog..... well that also depends on how far one could spit...... OK I can't get outta this. Let me explain myself:
After getting the unmentionable bolero back on the needles and knitting 1 row to turn the stitches round the right way..... I put in on my knitting tray..... and didn't look at it (or as I refer to it as not talking to it) for a week and a bit. So really there's only about 5 days of knitting sporadically on the bolero; because Uni's over and my other half's far more important to pay attention to than a godforsaken bolero, which is why with the unfinshed-ness.
I do have good news though; I have 1 sleeve done. Don't break open the champagne (or Hardys pink wine if you're like me) yet though; because I am very confused with the next piece (the body).... I've done the math before I started; to avoid the project being banashed to the tray for another week.... and I'm getting it wrong somewhere; I'm sure of it.

129 sts(from sleeve) + 5st each side of 7 rows = 13 st
129 +(5x2x7)+13..... it should equal 225(according to the pattern.... but I'm getting 212.....I'm 13 sts out....... unless the pattern means 13 on each side........ It probably does; but at least If I go wrong this is where I'll go wrong.....

Now that that's sorted and I am not worrying anymore I want to start a random new project: remember the 2 balls of ahatithink yarn? I said I wanted to make socks? well I found the socks I want to knit with them; they're not knee high; as I found out that it would need about ooooo; 4 balls.... and I don't wanna buy more yarn yet....

They are from Lionbrand pattern finder (I love this website; shame I cant get the yarn over here; in the UK though) and they look like this (<===)
THey're called Sweet home socks and apparently have lace at the top... but theres a couple of problems....
1. I don't have the needles (size 5 (3.75mm)DNPS; I have 2mm, 5mm and 6.5mm) but that's easily solved.... with £2 from the yarn fund and a trip into town
2. the size for these gorgeous socks are Women's Medium.... and 1 size... I have big legs.... so that dosent work well..... I'm gonna need to make the pattern to a bigger size; which means a lot of math and stiches..... I've only done this once before (bunny hat) and that was sorta easy because of the pattern; all I had to do was repeat it. this will be harder; probably.
Well I'm just back from town and I got myself new needles (3.75 DPNs) so all I need to do is find out if the yarn I have is good enough for the socks; then knit them.

-----World Cup knitting -----
Following the Harlot's idea (yarnharlot; type to google; best.knitting.blog.ever.) of Oylimpic knitting I have decided to tweek it a little and make it World Cup knitting; as the football will be going on at least 5 matches in a week throughout the Month of June and into early July (a match is even on my Birthday :-/) I have decided to set myself a challenge. Cast on the socks at the beginning of the World Cup (I'm taking this as June 11th cus thats when the first Game is) and be casting off or finished by the Final Match (July 11th).
This means I wold need to have one sock done by the mid-point (say June 26th) which gives me 15 days to do each Sock. I'm going to do all the calculations today; so wish me luck!
World cup knitting will also mean that I can't work on the unmeantionable bolero after June 11th; so I'm trying to get half-way across the back; so I can at least shove it in a bag; half way done for a month. so all you'll be seeing here will be socks...... or bits of them; for that I'm sorry (already)

----- Happy Birthdays -----
OK; its a little Late; but Happy Birthday to Nicole; Lauren and Charlotte; who were all 1 year older This month. I'll try to make this a regular thing in my blog :)

----- Until June 11th -----
yes I know thats a little bit more than 2 weeks; but it'll be a special; long- socky blog; along with news from the front line of the World Cup; with my Better half probably trying to teach me what's going on... and who He thinks'll win....or lose; whichever. I'll say at this point I don't really care who wins; as long as its not England.......(cus by then I'd be deaf) hehehehehehe.

Happy Sunshiny blog

----- Deal ------
I have the hat finished. the bunny Hat. the one that when I wear it keeps my head abnormally warm. yeah that hat. My other, better, half lost a little bet with me.

E: Almost finished my hat
C: no ur not; you still have to close it up
E: yeah; that'll only take 5 minutes, less actually
C: no it won't
E yeah it will
(E looks at TV; sees it is 2 mins til half time on the football and forms a deal)
E: bet I can get it done before the 2nd half
C: that's impossible
E: ok; If I win then u pose with the hat and if u win then I pose with the hat.
C:............. deal

Well he lost lol. so without further ado the next part of the blog.

---- 1 finished hat; 1 found....I think ----

I cleaned out my Stash the other day; and found this at the bottom.... I don't remember what it was meant to be but I think it was a hat.... before I started the bunny hat.
I can't find the pattern for it; nor do i know what row; or even what pattern to do. and I didn't even know I had 5mm DPNs.... weird. Good bye little unknown thing. we'd have a small funeral or case File.....if I knew what you were.

This was quickly froged back to its original state and since there is a little over 400g of this colour I think I feel my first pair of me sized socks when I touch that yarn. screw the little socks, I'm thinking nearly knee highs lol.

Is thinking about something a little bit special for a certain person... I just need a pattern and Yarn (and probably needles, cus a knitter can never have too many lol).

---- In other news ----
Lady was staring at something for qite a long time while I was knitting at Lunch. she doesn't usually just sit at the back door.... and if she had wanted out then she would have barked or came to just look at me (as if to say 'uh; hello? bathroom?') So I went to see what she was staring at.

It seems the pigeon Mafia has decended on our Garden. I swear they stayed in that 1 spot for like 15 minutes; I was knitting the unmeantionable shrug, so I could watch)

----Goodbyes ----
Yep; that's it from me; by the time I next blog to all you loverly people I will hopefully have finished or be within toasting distance of finishing the unmeantionable bolero.

Luv from Aki X

Disaster !

(It took a lot to not write that title in CAPS and without excessive !'s)
I'll be doing 2 whole blogs today; this is the first; rant-type blog then later I'll do the nice happy blog :)

----Disaster you say? ----
Yes I do say. I have realised that it would take a long time to save up enough money to start the big project; so I decided to do a relatively smaller project, A bolero for myself. I printed out the pattern; only looking at what Yarn I needed and the needles I needed. (as in; not the actual pattern)
I purchased all the yarn(5 balls of Rico cotton in colour 14(pomegranate) if anyone's interested) and 2.75mm circular needles(which are frigging tiny) and cast on... then I noticed the sleeves had frills (or flounces as they called them) and I don't suit frills..... so I had to calmly skim past a couple of lines to where they actually start the non-frilly knitting.
I cast on 89 stitches and worked the cuff; (more of the cuff than it said; but I don't like my elbows) and read the pattern after that... well I thought I had.
After 7 days, and a lot of yarn, I got to the shoulder and the pattern says I should have 129 stitches. I count them.... I got 100. I count them again pleading with my brain saying 'count right damn you'.... still 100.... I give them to my mum and she counts 100..... I pace the pattern seeing where I could have left out 29 stiches (which is about 2 inches worth of knittting alll the way up the sleeve) and I read the two little words I had missed....

I read
'Increase by 1 every 4 rows'
The pattern actually said
'Increase by 1 every 4 rows each side'
..... I was horrified. I had started increasing every 4 rows once..... instead of twice (as the pattern wanted).... the diagram makes my problem clear. it maens I would have to restart from where I started to increase..... row 27........ I was on row 98.... thats 70 rows of wrong knitting.... I've had to frog back before but never that much... I poured myself quite a sizeable glass of rose wine (Hardy's; it was lovely) and set to work. I laughed as my dad was on 'roll up the ball again' duty.
I sat on my bed last night wondering if I had enough energy in me to do an all nighter; a knitting all nighter.... I wrote up my mistakes in my notes and made notes to get me back to where I was before. I made it to row 30 before sleep got the better of me. writing this now I hope to be on row 40 by the end of the day.

More (happier) blog after Lunch. Thanks for reading this knitting rant as far as this :). you've made a happy woman very old.

Blog didn't happen again....

---- Long time no blog (again...) ----

Having been doing this blog for awhile I have realised how hard it actually is to complete a project within one week...... this had frequented in many 'I have no finished objects but here's some pretty pictures blogs'. and I don't like doing that... it makes me feel that I have cheated you all in some way; shape or form... so I'm not gonna. Instead of the once a week schedule I have decided to turn this into a twice a month schedule blog (that's every other week) it'll still be on a Wednesday and I'll try and do special blogs every-so-often.
All that sorted? I'm sorry. got it? good; now onto bloginess

---- The end of GB ----

This Tuesday ended the teaching year of my GB (349th Holy Trinity) and instead of having a display we decided this year to  have a formall-y affair at which everyone can get their awards. This year was very productive if I do say so myself and I'm actually looking forward to getting back to it next year with a whole new set of tinys (which are soo cute). but I'm even more looking forward to Tuesday nights off.

-Things we've learnt from this year at GB-
  • Parades should not be held anywhere near the sea. (bloody freezing)
  • Give a child a balloon and they will amuse themselves for hours
  • Some little girl's favourite colour is brown (at not pink; I was shocked)
  • You should not put shower creme in a foot Spa (==>)
  • Girls; no mater how small are powerless to resist Chocolate
  • The second people see you in Church with a Boy then you will undoubtedly get 20 Questions about him and limitless 'have to meet him's and 'bring him to GB's
  • It is possible for a 5 year old to punch out a tooth (don't ask about that one lol)
  • Santa is a powerful swinger of the conversation if you're a 5 year old (you just have to remind them 'Santa's watching u and their good )
  • Candles are not safe around Juniors (9 to 12 yr olds)
  • If small people here you are 20 the next question is usually what 'P' are u in?
lols

---- New knitting stuffs ----
When I left u last I was talking about how I had found the needles for Pink buuny; Well she is finished :) she stands a cool 9 inches tall (ears included) and since she stood for so long without being finished I even gave her a red formal dress; which was leftovers from the Dog's sock (lol). Also the Wine bottle cover is almost finished; needing only a cord to go around the neck and some decorations on the side :) I have gave her a name of Candy (short for Candyfloss; the name of the shade of yarn)

--- Learning ---
A few people will remember the disaster I had with The best Bunny Amigurumi and I said I would try to learn crochet to make this bunny. I have not re-acquainted myself with the single needle just yet; and it feels weird; not having anything to do with my other hand.

I have also learned from my attempt at that hat; where I ran out of Wool at the last hurdle; and instead bought 2 balls of the wool to do my second; it's a slightly off Sand colour; and since I know I will have lots of Wool left over I am going to do what I have been threatening to do for awhile and make the Hat have Bunny ears that droop down the back. I am just onto my second ball of Wool and I'm on my 20th row (out of 35); I then have the ears to do.

As soon as I am finished this Hat I have decided on my first big project; it's going to remain a secret until I've saved up enough to buy the yarn. (that should be about £30)

So farewells til then - til the 12th of May (dear god) I hopes to have lots done by then :D

PS: just before I go; I would like to know how many people actually read this; so if you would please post a comment on this blog post. (just a rough post; not a life story lol)

Double blog = double the fun

---- Long time no blog! ----
As many may have noticed there was no blog last week; I will not address why that was here; because it'll ruin the mood of this; happy; sunshiny blog.

In the Last blog I moaned that it was snowing; in April. Well: Mr. Weather must read this blog because on Sunday just past we had hot weather; 18 degrees with not a cloud in the sky. the good weather maintained and is stillmaintaining as I write this on Wednesday afternoon. I actualy think I have a tan :). All good stuff
The good Weather enabled me to work outside and to take some very cute pictures with Cottontail and Sandy. which will follow now. (apoligies; some of them turned out blueish.... I don't know why that happened lol)
Sunshine :)
Cottontail & a Daisy
Cuddles

----Well thats enough of that ----
And now onto something different; This was almost a Case file report but it was resolved is the last minute by.... tidying my study/kniting room.
I thought I had lost my size 2mm needles; and was going to have a small funeral for the knitted Pink bunny was was knit with them; but not completed. I even took the Funeral pose picure (<====) when magically mum shouted down from my knitting room 'was it the 2mm you were looking for?'  (me:)'Yes...'  (Mum:) 'Found them'  to which I bolted to the room and quizzed where they were. they were in one of the gift bags that sit below my knitting stuff. I got right to work re- making the rest of the bunny. right now; as I'm writting this She still has 1 more leg to be made and attached, both her ears have to be done and miracusly I found a tiny pink pompom for the tail :)
So she will be done to show you all next week; if I finish her before Sunday I'm going to re-start the fox, then we'll see where it goes from there :)I actually managed to

but before All that; I have a wine-bag that I want to complete.I have to make it to 12 inches long and everytime I measure it; no matter how much I knit it hasn't grown. Knit; measure; 7inches; knit; measure; 7inches; knit a lot; measure; 7inches damn it!!! That and I am so not looking forward to the shaping on the bottom, I fail to see how I'm going to do it without steel circulars..... which are expensive and I won't buy....yet... I'll probably treat myself to them with birthday money.....probably..... I feel a large Yarn order coming on, the Yarn money in my bedroom has reached £14. when it reaches £35 I am allowing myself to order Yarn from knit and sew .co .uk ....or Dragon Yarns.... or maybe both lol.

No finished objects this week; but I'll probably have 2 finished for you all next week, and 1 more started. I'm also going to post an extra Long blog probably next Monday; on what topic this is..... welll....lets just say I have a lot of knitting patterns that I want to organise to what I want to do. I'm going to try and put them into some sort of order by monday and store them here.

----- Until then then -----
so then Until next monday faithful bloggy reader people; go and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts. :D

Happy Easter !!!!!!!!

---- A Happy Easter to all ----
I hopes that the.... huge...upright-walking bunny.... bearing chocolate(or made of chocolate).... came to yous all to. I have lots to report; but lets first see what the Easter Bunni brought me. I actually got two eggs; but the second one just came and I cba taking a picture of it lol. The white was opened this morning and the giant bar of Caramel is for tomorrow night; when Craig's here :)

I have some very good news..... and some accidental news.... :L; Lets get this started:

---- Case File 002 ----
I felt bad about starting another bunny before finishing the fox I had already started; so Last night I pulled out the ball and the needles... much to my horror they had detached from the needles in the bag. After a frantic search; This is what I was left with (===>)

its half the size it was when I left it and asit wasn't attached to needles the stitches had become indistiguishable; I had to rip out a full row to get it right for picking up the stitches with the needles again. I cast off to make an Amigurumi scarf (a small one mind). It's still the same orange I will use for Foxy when I make him; so the effect of this scarf is if the same effect if you have a fox pelt draped around your neck at a posh dinner lol

End of case file

---- What the heck is that ----
I'll post a picture first; then I'll tell u what it was meant to be
I know; its deformed. Truth is I didn't even notice it was deformed til I stiched up the back lol. I was trying to knit it when the lightning was happening; so that maybe explains why its disfigured.

Yes; this was my attempt at the Best bunny. Lots of things went wrong with this one, I forgot to fill the arm; I messed up the nose so much that it looks, not like a nose; but a knot lol. I know I'll re-do the best bunny (cus he actually looks so easy) I might use this oppourtunity to actually learn myself how to crochet........ God help me.
But I also want to have something to do with this..... I don't like wasting yarn.

----- The good news -----
I completed that damn hat!!! :D but however every silver cloud has a brown-y shite-coloured lining. Let me explain: The knitting was going great; I was getting used to the cables and the pattern; I was about 5 rows from the end when I look down at my ball..... and realise its not a ball anymore; that I could see right through it. I paniced and measured; then I knitted a little bit more til I got to this point (\/)
It hit me that kniting the next row  without something on the end of that would be stupid. I searched my knitting bag (because of course I didn't buy 2 balls of the wool; that would be organised; the wool closest to the thickness of the original white one.... is the same wool I used for Craig's Valentine's Heart; yes people; that is bright red and orange. It had to do.
Picture of the completed hat. *it looks like the Japanese Flag from the top; so I guess thats ok*
Hat was modelled by my beautiful Mum's head; she got chocolate as a thank you. I also promised not to show her face; which is why u see the back lol.
I actually love these cables and I plan to do another hat for myself. Some may remember that I bought 2 Balls of the Sidar Big Softie; one in this white and another in a chocolate brown colour. I am going to make this hat again; but I am going to change it slightly. I am going to put a 2x2 rib to start the hat off in the Valentine's Wool and I'm going to do some of the design in the Valentines too; so that I'lll have enough chocolate to finish the hat this time. AND with whats left over of the Valentines I am going to attach either cat ears of long bunny ears to the hat. depending on how much I have left lol.
But for now I am knitting Wine bags. Quite a few birthdays are coming upa nd I want to have something special to give to people :) lol Also I want to make this(<=====) Mostly because it rocks. I want to make it in almost a cyan blue colour..... or a rusty brown colour (to match hat to be made). I want to make it over the summer so I can wear it in the Autumn... hopefully. it will however take nearly 10 balls of wool.... all the same colour....... sigh.... thats expensive.
----- some news that doesnt involve knitting -----

Due to my recent obbession with the sims I have decided to re-try to install both Sims games onto this computer. thats Sims 3 (already installed) and Sims 2 (was installed on my old computer; but was.....stuttery cus the specs for the computer weren't as high as this one. I want to test this computer lol. I dug out ALL my old Sims 2 stuff and set it infront of me.... I've been doing this blog and it's been sitting there.......ominous.... and kinda big..... it's half the size of my  32' screen.... I'm going to play....install then play lol.

Yesterday..... the blog didn't happen

---- A small note ----
When you live in a place like Northern Ireland you come to expect certain things off the weather, for example:
  • If you plan an outdoor activity; say a picnic or a park visit, the weather will undoubtedlty rain on you and Laugh as you eat your picnic in your car or retreat to your nearest fast food place.
  • planned a day shopping? it'll either be unbearably hot or Rain on you..... most likely rain.
  • and of course if you have planned a day in; watching TV and getting reacquainted with the sofa the weather will be strikingly good. so good it'll make you want to take your knitting (or whatever you normal people do infront of the TV) outside. As soon as your ass has left the sofa a dark cloud comes over the sun; it will obviously start to rain even before you've gotten to your back door and if u do venture outside it will be so cold that u swear the grass is shivering.
However; in my years on this piece of land I would have never expected that sort of weather over Easter. In one day it rained, sleeted, snowed and there was even a sheet lightning storm in higher places. thousands lost power; roads were closed due to floods; and worst of all: I lost the will to knit.

----Problems----
A small amount of my friends have seen me in a Lightning storm... Infact I think only my significant other has seen me in one (so; yeah; 1 person's a small amount) but he's seen me like that twice. Appently I squeek when the lightning illuminates my living room for a split second. Yes I am afraid of Lightning... and Thunder... anything that comes out of the sky that shouldn't normally scares me.
Through all the squeeking I was doing I managed to get no knitting done whatsoever. I almost blogged about some random rubbish when I sat down at my computer; instead I realised that there was no internet connection (yet another problem for my fear-stricken; bunny-like state) therefore no blog yesturday

:| Gomen issai (sorry; in japanese)

To make up for the lack of Blog today I will do a Special one on Sunday; which is Easter (which my stomach knows only too well; as I've got 2 eggs and quite a few bars to munch; but I'm not allowed to touch them until Sunday.
Oh yeah; Lady got an Egg too lol and we discovered that she likes the creme out of creme eggs.

----- Happy Easter to all until then -----
Sorry about all the bloggy delays. Luv u's all eternally (one in a differnet way to everyone else obviously lol)

Progress!

--Hello all you loverly people :D --

Well Easter is nearly upon us and I for one am loving how close it's getting. As any holiday means that my better half is getting off Uni. Which means we can spend more time together than usual, which is always good.

---- UFOs -----
UFOs = 5
Yeah; I added to them instead of finishing anything, simply because I had to. In my last post I said that because of a fatal Bus incident I ended up buying Yarn, well on Monday I went into Town and bought new Needles... to work this Yarn. I bought 6.5mm (cus they had no 7mm) DPNs and they're uber thick, after getting used to tiny needles for a long time I am finding it difficult to  not stab things with them, say, my arm, my knee, my nose or my eye. All of which got at least one needle poked at them in the last 48 hours. But all for the better, because I'm starting another Hat. a White Hat. I'm going to call it 'Cottonbud Hat' because I swear If I ever wear this Hat I am going to look like a cottonbud. its about .... ohhhh.... 20% done.
As expected I have not made any progress with the bunnnies or the once.apon.a.time-fox-now.not.a-fox amigumi in the past 48 hours, I was more concentrating on my 2 hats. The cabled Hat I was knitting before, I have decided to add Rabbit ears to, kind of flopping down the back and insteped with Pink for its inner ear and the cream of the hat for the outer bit. It will be sooooooo cute when I'm finished with it :)

Also thanks to GB Craft with the tiny's I now have 3 big balls of Yarn that are in very...pinky colours, colours I refuse to use unless there is just cause to do so...which there is.
Yes I will be adding (yet again) to the UFO count with THIS->
Isn't she cute? She's the 'Best Bunny' from Lionbrand Yarns. its a free pattern and its also Ideal to use up my leftover pink and Yellow Yarn.
I'll have to Edit it ever so slightly; cus it's made for Crochet and... I can barely crochet anything but an endless chain. so I'm gonna try to Knit it instead.I'll let the blog know how it's going. And I'm probably going to start it as soon as I finish the post on this blog lol, Lets be honest it IS the season for Bunnys :).

--- Finished items ---
none....... an I'm not happy about that.

---- Goodbyes ----
I know this has only been a very short blog (and with only one picture of something that I'm preparing to do, not have done) but U have to appreate that it has only been 48 hours since my last post. at least 20 of those were sleeping, 3 were GB (trust me; I cannot Knit in GB without 10 people coming over'what u doing?' 'knitting' 'is that a bunny? ' yes'  'can I play with him' 'no' 'why' and it goes on) and I spend a long time on Facebook everyday. so the lack of FOs was expected from the start really. I hope to have at least one of the Hats done by this time next week, along with a good part of Best Bunny and the tiny Amigumis that now call the space infront of the pencil jar home.
Until next Wednesday then - Toodles XXX

Random bits of UFO and a confession

------ Greetings ------
First off; before u say it, I know, the blog is a teeny tiny bit......late. by about a day or two.... infact in 4. Never the less I made blogging my new year's resolution, to blog once a week, every week for the entire year, and by God I am gonna do it! *determined face* so I'll blog today (Monday) and again this Wednesday; then on every Wednesday from here on, well, I'll try to :)

--- UFOs ---
No, I have not been kidnapped by midgets in Green (although it was St.patricks day and I did see a lot of green)In the knitting orld UFOs stands for UnFinished Objects and is used to mean; things that are on needles; Half of things (like a cardigan...with no arms or front done yet) or pairs of things (Socks, gloves ect where u've only made 1 so far).
I am therefore going to make this a regular installment in this blog and catch u up with unfinished knitting (or other) projects I haven't done yet. so lets start this this week.

UFOs = 4
2 bunny Amigurumis (one pink and one white)
I started these right after the first Amigurumi Bunny, these ones never got that much attention, one because its pick and the other because I used sock stich, with makes it tiny looking.
1 Cabled Hat in the making (the scary looking 5 needled thing)
I found this pattern on the web, so Far it hasn't gave me that much bother; apart from being mind-bogglingly scary looking at 10 in the morning lol.
The bright orange ball of Cotton actually is the beginning of a Fox amigurmi that I am making. The white circle on the stomagh is annoying me and I want to start it again but I cant think of what to do with this random square of knitting I have done.
+And thats it for this weeks UFOs+

-----A confession -----
Well; know a couple of posts ago...... when I said I was saving up  for just after Easter to Knit my first big project? well last week; not only had I decided on the Yarn to use I had found a pattern and realised I had all the needles; all I needed would be the Yarn.
Until...Thursday happened. I had made up my mind to go into town and get some much needed retail therapy, through going into craftworld and buying all round me. Well I won't go into details but I missed the damn bus... through no fault of my own. I was not getting all dressed up for nothing, I was buying something. So my local Yarn shop called to me. I went in and I bought THE most softest Wool imaginable ( and I can say wool (not Yarn)because it is mostly (51%) wool) it's Sidar's Big softie super chunky wool, in a creamy white colour and in chocolate. I will be making hats. from both I want enough of the white left over for bunny ears and the top but that probably wont happen, its only 50g (x2) of the stuff.
I also got my hands on some Sidar Click chunky in an almost Cinnamon Colour with flecks of Green and black. it looks about right to made gloves out of, or wristlets at least

--------Finished---------
Because I want to learn all things to do with knitting and quite a large part of that involves socks I wanted to knit a sock. just to get used to patterns and how to turn the heel and do the toe ect. it was finished all of 3 days ago and given to my dog. yes I know; teeth and yarn do not go together, but the sock was only an experimental piece, and because of that I diliberatly made it dog-sized. It amuses me because it looks like some sort of diseased tounge if she has it in her mouth just right. lol
I also baked a Cake this week in GB; it was a classic Victoria sponge with strawberries on the top. however we don't whip enough cream for the top of the cake so the strawberries were just sitting there, with a very thin layer of the cream skimmed ontop. Looks lovely doesn't it.
----- Goodbyes -----
While writing this blog today I have actually knitted more of the hat than pictured, but that'll have to be on Wednesday's Blog, when I'll have even more of it done.

So until...well 2 days away, toodles X . X
